Terms and Conditions

Rates & Taxes All rates are subject to Vermont's 9% Rooms Tax and Ludlow's 1% Local Option Tax. We do not add service fees or gratuities to your bill.

Reservations & Deposits When you book through our website, we charge a one-night deposit to your credit card at the time of reservation. Your remaining balance is due at check-in and can be paid by credit card, cash, or check. If you don't specify a payment method when you arrive, we'll charge the card on file.

Please note that deposit and cancellation policies may vary depending on which booking channel you use.

Cancellations For website bookings:

• Cancel more than 14 days before arrival: we refund your deposit minus a $25 cancellation fee (plus tax).
• Cancel within 14 days but at least one day before arrival: your deposit is forfeited.
• The last day to cancel is the day before your scheduled arrival.

If you do not cancel in time, we will charge the card on file for the full balance of your stay, which becomes non-refundable.

No one likes to cancel, and everyone has an unhappy reason. We are a small business and we don't have the flexibility of big hotels. Please respect our cancellation policy.

We reserve the right to cancel any reservation at any time.

Check-In & Check-Out Check-in is between 3:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Check-out is by 11:00 a.m. Please plan your travels accordingly. If you need flexibility, speak with us in advance and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

Occupancy & Extra Guests For safety and comfort, we strictly adhere to our licensed limit of two guests per room. Violators will be asked to leave immediately with no refund.

Children are welcome at any age but should never be left unattended. All children over the age of 2 count toward the room occupancy limit. Children 2 and under may stay in the same room as their parents for an additional $25 per night.

Weapons Weapons of any kind are not permitted on the premises.

Smoking Smoking is prohibited inside the inn. If you smoke, please use the front outdoor areas and dispose of waste responsibly.

Cannabis The consumption of cannabis products is prohibited on the premises, inside and outside, in accordance with Vermont law.

Violations Guests who violate our smoking or cannabis policies will be asked to leave the premises immediately. No refunds will be given. A minimum cleaning fee of $250 (or higher) will be added to your reservation charges.

Pets We ask that you leave your pets at home when you visit.

Texting By providing your phone number, you consent to receive recurring text messages from The Governor's Inn regarding your reservation and stay, including booking confirmations, check-in details, property information, and general guest communication. Message frequency varies based on your stay and inquiries.

Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. For assistance, reply HELP or call us at (802) 228-8830. To opt out, reply STOP at any time. After opting out, you will receive a final confirmation message and will no longer receive texts unless you opt in again.
